StrongHand Welding Magnets Review

These are StrongHand branded adjustable angle magnets, purchased from Staksys.co.uk. They cost just under £15 and were cheaper than similar offerings from ebay or Amazon. Staksys also have an extensive range of other magnets available (plus a whole range of other tools that you’d probably like to own) so the website is well worth a look.

To be honest, these haven’t been as useful as I thought they’d be. I wanted them to hold pieces of the petrol tank that I'm trying to fabricate so that I could check fit etc. but they’re too large and unwieldy for the bits that I want to hold. I actually found it more useful to take them apart and use the legs individually. This is absolutely not the fault of the magnets, they are well built, strong and keenly priced, come with the allen key (hexagon wrench) required to alter the angle and a dowel pin arrangement that allows you to quickly set the magnet to 30, 45 and 90 degrees. I’ve no doubt that if I was constructing larger projects, they would prove invaluable, but for the current task, they’ve actually been replaced by a glue gun!
